Adoleta - Clapping Game
This clapping game is played in a circle and children try to play it as fast as possible in order to "trick" the other participants.
Here is a short explanation of how to play the game as well as how to say the words.
BATATA QUENTE
In this game children sing:
Po-ta-to - Hot Hot Hot Hot
(d-r-m-s-s-s-s-) until the leader of the game says burned! Sometimes there is a task associated with being burned, sometimes the game simply goes on.
CORRE CUTIA
This is a chasing game, also played by children through the country.
PARARA
In this video, the participants demonstrate how to play Parara (or Pararati). The hand clap looks complicated, but it is quite simple once you understand the order. The words are also simple it is always the consonants P-R-R followed by the pure vowels in order A-E-I-O-U.
HAND GAMES
In this short 15 minute video, children teach how to play their favourite hand clap games. The audio is in Portuguese, but they explain it slow enough that is is possible to understand how the game goes.
